Mercedes Benz komt met nieuwe V8
Mercedes Benz komt met een nieuw V8 Benzine motor. De CL klasse`s profiteren als eerste van deze ontwikkeling. Aangezien er een nieuw model van de grootste coupe voor de deur staat, komt de nieuwe motor op het juiste moment. De 500 zal de eerste Mercedes met de nieuwe motor worden. Het is nog niet bekend of de naam CL gewijzigd gaat worden in S coupé is nog niet bekend.
De nieuwe motor heeft zoals gezegd 8 cilinders met een cilinderinhoud van 4,7 liter. Dat is minder dan de vorige motor want die had 5,5 liter inhoud. De 4,7 liter motor heeft daarentegen wel twee turbo`s. De kleinere motorinhoud levert daardoor meer vermogen. De nieuwe motor geeft 435 paardenkrachten en heeft een koppel van 700 Nm. De start- en stoptechniek is ook ingevoerd en moet een aanzienlijke daling in het verbruik geven. Er wordt nu al gezegd dat deze motor 100 kilometer rijdt op 9,5 liter. Dat is aanzienlijk minder dan het vorige model motor, die gebruikte 12,3 liter op 100 KM.
